Displaying excellent technique and control, the artist guides the viewer through the kitchen of an intergenerational home where seasoned hands and youthful limbs come together to make tang yuan from scratch. The delectable glutinous rice balls are served in a hot syrupy soup in celebration of the Winter Solstice Festival. The term yuan itself translates to circle, which is a shape that the artist intentionally repeats throughout the artwork to symbolise cohesion and togetherness.
