Artwork Description

The artist displays excellent watercolour technique, with the right colour treatment and play of light eliciting a strong sense of melancholy and nostalgia. Geometric shapes are superimposed on a typical fishing village scene to symbolise the missing connection between parents who still ply their traditional trade and their children who have moved to the city. The artist beautifully captures the raw nature of a fishing village and the pining for one’s loved ones.
