Artwork Description
Utilising the silk screen technique, the artist forges multiple layers to conceive this expressive metaphorical piece. Showcasing solid photomechanical skill, the artwork expertly juxtaposes the majestic Malayan tiger, an animal that is both deadly and endangered with the Karambit, an all but forgotten ancient weapon. The Karambit was developed to mimic a tiger’s claw, representing willpower, courage and strength. In the past, women often hid them in their hair buns, to be retrieved in situations where self-defence was necessitated.
